The purpose of this book is to reveal the creative joys of artwork to children, at an early age. Children’s books are usually full of illustrations that tell a story. This collection of artworks are drawings and paintings that were completed by Gregory C. Werner over the course of a few years. He also loved to tell stories.
Gathering at the Watering Hole tells the story of JuneJune; a baby elephant who is excited about going to the watering hole. Going to the watering hole allows him to play with his friends, share lessons learned, and learn new things that have occurred since the last time they gathered at the watering hole. They also get dirty from playing, and then clean up for the journey home (which is also fun).
The story of JuneJune is our interpretation of Gregory C. Werner’s artwork. We hope that we have honored him with our presentation, and pray that children will be inspired to freely express their unique gifts and talents through art.
